The Differences in Academic Writing
High School academic writing and collegiate academic writing definitely differ in many ways, to say the least. In high school, teachers prepare you for college writing but they mostly only teach you the basics like how to format your essays and the general idea of correct grammar usage. I actually found it very interesting how much different college professors take your writing, especially when you come straight out of high school. Professors expect you to have all the knowledge already going into college but they don't stray away from giving you all the possible resources you need to help you. College academic writing is much for intricate in so many ways, but it opens up so many more opportunities and allows for so many more advances in your future careers.
I think so. In college, the emphasis from teachers shifts from mere correctness in writing to learning something of value — at least of value to the teacher.
